Monday is day number two, believe it or not, and despite any ISO, so it's got not really anything special. Still, some of us seem to have a problem with this day. Not me, I have a personal disaccord with Thursdays, just like Douglas Adams, and I have never been able to find out why.
Now, Monday refers to the moon, of course, it's the moon's day. And therefore I could never despise this day. I have loved the moon since childhood days.
Most of us also know a lot about the moon, f.e. that it is about a quarter of the earth's diameter, 400, 000 km away from us, and every 28 days and a few hours less it starts its new cycle. Its gravity is about six times lower then earth's. And its shine is not its own light, it's reflected sunlight.
The moon, I believe is infact one of the most reliable phenomenons we experience. Therefore until today it has become subject of many works of art and fiction, and it still keeps inspiring us.
And is it not comforting to know that we all share the same moon? To know that something is to a large extent out of human control? I mean, everything else can be tampered with, earth, air, water, and of course fire, even death. On the other hand it's a fact that the moons's influence affects our seas as much as our fertility.
The moon will continue waxing and waning. It started before us and will probably still be doing so when we are long gone, as a whole species, that is. By the way, daring to hate Thursdays, let alone Mondays, why again are we humans taking us so seriously?
