My favourite teen movies are nothing like "Highschool Musical", or "Hannah Montana". I believe, Efron, Cyrus & Co are the bizarre outcome of zeitgeist. Every time gets the movies it deserves.
When I was younger I was sure that it wasn't worth it. Nothing was worth anything. And what for, anyway. So one of my most favorite movies was "Heathers". There was a glimpse of hope in it, somehow, that you could get along with the greatest amount of sarcasm possible.
I mean, you could not be happy with "Muriel's Wedding" or "Welcome to the Dollhouse". You'd rather run off not being able to stop screaming, especially when it came to actually going to Disney World at the end of "Dollhouse". And as it's been another generation since the happy time of the Ringwald classics that had helped to survive stuff like "Grease", you could only stick to poisoning your enemy's drink. Happy Nineties.
So, what is now is due to the "Noughties", I was told. Since this means nothing but a bunch of zeros, i.e. nil, you've already got your answer to all this deep thought, sort of. It's not 42.
