an hour as white as lace
just like your velvet morning face
an hour shimmering wise
just like your evening eyes
This is the hour, I say
this is the hour of light
this is the hour today
and this is the hour tonight
and in this time I'll be
but writing fairest poetry
and paint its cheeks unshed
to edge you out of bed
all treasured I would gaze
at you rejoicing silently
and with its fragrant light
unlit I'd see, I'd see
This is the hour, I say
this is the hour of light
this is the hour today
and this is the hour tonight
its glowing would be bound
and even if I really drowned
I'd follow our day
I'd never go astray
This is the hour, I say
this is the hour of light
this is the hour today
and this is the hour tonight
