I always thought that the best thing was to live a life full of good memories and a lot of hope for your future. Now we are told that this might make us sick. Scientist Killingsworth tells us to be content with our situation. Daydreaming could be fatal, he says. Live now!
That sounds like religion to me. If you think it through, it is nothing new at all, and nothing else than what most religions have told us since they were found: Be content with this life! Faithfully combined, of course, with a promise of a better afterlife, happily ever after, so to speak.
Killingsworth does not even give us this promise anymore, his research just leaves us with being content. Well, if you ask me, people who do not enjoy their memories nor love to dream about their future, would be better off with religion, in that case. Because, once again, science kills all the fun.
