America's Sweethearts
Trying to describe why this movie may be better than what most critics think is like telling a joke that begins with: "A man goes to his Rabbi...".
Of course, it is easy to say that what is told here is not really Hollywood. Of course not.
On the other hand, why not? Funny is mostly nothing but an exaggeration, therefore why not take it as a satire. Many films play with this sort of satire, even if only in certain dialogues. Such as references to actors, Oscar winners and movies, as well as the lengendary comment of a "model" telling her actor boyfriend that she needed a shower and had to throw up before she could go out, as in "In an Out".
So why not?
A separated couple, both actors, have to reunite in order to promote their latest movie. Why not? This has definitely happened before, but why would we want to know if it wasn't at all fun(ny). This is. Both ways.
So. What more do you want? America's Sweetheaerts has love, revenge, silly jokes, good ones, even, and also envy, and jealousy, humour, wisdom, slapstick, serious moments, covered up with humour again, and, on top of everything, many, many quotable lines.
Gwen: Kiki? What was that movie called?
Kiki: I don't give a shit!
Eddie: No, that wasn't it.
This was an example. And here's another one: Life i a cookie.
Just like this movie.

About Dinosaurs
Despite expectations, I am not on facebook, do not follow twitter, nor do I blog on tumblr, and I don't even connect via Google. I hardly play any games on my computer and none on my mobile. I also have no mobile internet and therefore cannot send or receive apps, mms or pictures. My Bluetooth is mostly deactivated, and I have no intercom or handsfree set. I do not like 3D, do not need HD, and I will not give in to Blue-ray either. I do not read ebooks and do not own a fax machine.
And finally: I hardly ever watch TV or listen to the radio.
I do watch films or series on DVD. I do go to the cinema now and then. I do read many books, and a selected few papers and magazines. I draw sometimes and listen to music. I love to listen to audiobooks. I write.
I do talk on the phone. I write e-mails, but I also send letters and postcards.
I play cards and other games.
One thing at a time.
There are still some of us left.

like magic
i don't know if i even like him
but i adore him
this conductor of the many
such bright a light
one to expect the unexpected
though and never accepted
promoting promotion as an art
simply too smart
too cool to be a fool
a pirate, a maniac, a fanatic
who works like magic
to stand for nothing but his IT
and simply to be
what he could be
and to leave -
